Be on time

Simple stuff but if you start on the right foot it goes a long way in ensuring you get good feedback. Be late and you’re fighting an uphill battle to regain their approval. 

Initiative 

“Finished mate. What do you want me to do now?” When a task is complete always ask the site manager how you can be of help.

​Be friendly and respectful

Understand that the site managers might be stressed out sometimes. This may be because of several problems they’re trying to solve - don’t take this personally. Your job is adapt to the environment and help the team. Let them lead. 

Good attitude 

You want to have a good time onsite. Everyone’s there to earn money and enjoy the day where they can. We have a strict no phones during tasks policy. We want you to pay attention and engage with your fellow workers.

Good energy 

Don’t walk around site dragging your feet being the low energy guy. Site managers know when guys are just wasting time - it’s time they're paying for and they won’t put up with it. 

Safety first 

You might be a good bloke and a hard worker but if you're not careful with tools, hazards and instructions then all that goes out the window.  Safety first is always said for a very good reason. Listen and read carefully in the site induction and be aware of your surroundings.
